FAQs on Making Cards, Mailing the Cards, Distribution & more.

FAQs about Making Cards:

Q: Should cards only be made by people with great artistic talent?
A:
No, anyone can make cards! One of the beautiful things about the cards is that each one is unique, just like the child receiving it. It is truly the thought that counts.

Q: Can I only write the suggested comments in instructions, or can I write my own?
A: Absolutely, you can come up with your own messages to write on the cards. These are general suggestions, to help give you a sense of what to write/avoid writing.

Just make sure your comments are uplifting, rather than focusing on the child's condition(s). If have comments you are unsure about, or that you want our feedback on, email us at info@cardsforhospitalizdkids.com.

Q: Should I address the card to a specific person?
A:
No, you should not address cards to a specific person since we don't know the child's name yet.

Q: Do you have a need for cards written in Spanish?
A: Yes, absolutely! It is great to have these for patients that speak Spanish.

Q: Should I sign the card?
A:  Yes, please sign your first name on the card.

Q: When signing the card, can I also write my state, such as "Alan from Florida"?
A:  Yes.

Groups, such as Girl Scouts, Sororities, etc., can also sign their group name, troop #, etc.

Q: The instructions mention that excessive glitter is not permitted, as it can create health concerns. How do I know if my glitter is excessive?
A:  To know if it is excessive, rub your finger over it once or twice. If little or none comes off, then it is fine.

Q: Can I use materials like stickers, stamps, etc.?
A:  Yes. The only rules regarding materials is that nothing is excessive, to the point of falling off, (because it can create health risks for some patients), and that all messages are up-lifting. Other than that, get as creative as you want!

Q: Does each card need an envelope?
A: No, the cards do not need to be in envelopes.
