In addition to our distributions of cards to kids in hospitals nationwide monthly and for holidays, Cards for Hospitalized Kids sends care packages directly to individual kids, referred to us. Most of these kids are undergoing cancer treatment or long-term care for serious health issues, such as a transplant, or etc., and receive cards from us monthly throughout their treatment. These "regularly card-receiving kids" also special care packages from CFHK! We distribute care packages year-round--not just during the holidays!
Over the years, these care packages have grown beyond just a few cards. We've expanded to include toys, a variety of different types of cards based on the child's interests, pop-up flower sets from Fresh Cut Paper, autographs by CFHK Celebrity & Athlete supporters and more!
You can donate toys directly off our Amazon wish list. Toys or gift-cards can also be donated by mail and sent to: CFHK, Patient Operations Team, 3523 O Street, NW, Washington, DC 20007. An in-kind donation receipt, to be used for tax deduction, is provided for all donations.

Yes, absolutely! Gift cards have been a great addition into our care packages!! We suggest selecting common places that the child / their parents will be able to make use of such as: Target, Amazon, Walmart, etc. We've also received gift cards for Insta Cart, McDonalds, Uber Eats, etc. These can be especially helpful for families undergoing long-term chemotherapy or treatment out of state.

Absolutely!!! CFHK will gladly provide a tax-deductible in-kind donation receipt for all toy and gift card donations. Upon receiving the donation, we will issue the receipt either via email and/or mail. For questions regarding this or to request an in-kind donation receipt, email [email protected]
Yes, absolutely! We distribute these packages year-round. Additionally, most of our "regular card receiving kids" enjoy receiving holiday themed care packages into January as well! Holiday themed toys can also be saved for 2026.
